Just a little update on me :)

In case you are wondering why I have such little posts recently, I have been madly working away on the World Card Making Day card contest.  I made three of them, and I would loove to show you guys and get some feedback on it, but as part of the requirement, you cannot post anywhere public.  It's hard to know what the judges are looking for - there's just too much talented people out there, and wouldn't have a clue how they are going to judge that.  However, if any one of you are interested, it is sponsored by Paper Crafts Magazine, and more info can be found here.  All the submissions (that are not winners) are sent to the troops through Operation Write Home.  So, just making them made me happy to know that I'm doing this for a good cause.  After the deadline has passed, and assuming that I'm not one of the lucky people, I'll post them at that time.

My reno has been pushed back and I'm still at my parents till mid October.  I don't have any problems with that - actually, I think that I've got it pretty good right now.  It's going to be hard to go back to doing everything myself :)  How spoiled am I?

Here's some simple cards again that I made that I'll share with you:

And - my three winners from my blog candy - I just sent it in the mail today, so hopefully it won't take too long to get to your mailbox.  Let me know when you get them!  Have a great evening!

Felt, felt, felt!

Brrr!  Ohhh, it's getting chilly outside these days, and it's only September!  The worst part about this is that our reno is not over, and we only brought over our summer wardrobe over to my parent's house.  I think that I have to go digging through my boxes at home stacked on top of each other in the basement and try to find some warmer clothes!

So, as I was making cards today, I wanted to get into a cozy mood, and reached over to the warm, fuzzy looking felt canisters from American Crafts.  I`ve made some simple cards today, and wanted to share them with you.  I punched in holes on the felt to make it button-like, and used twine to sew the felts on the cardboard.

Enjoy!  Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Just because cards.

Oh, when does my busy life ever slow down?  I'm sure you all can relate, but I feel like I can never catch up.  I perhaps procrastinate too much.  Maybe it's Facebook and Creating the Hive, and all the cool shopping sites...  maybe it's my parent's great food in the kitchen (I live with my parents temporary) that I get pulled there more often than to stay put in my craft chair.  Perhaps it is all the painting, packing, organizing that I'm doing.  Or, life is just simply hectic with 3 kids.  Nevertheless, I managed to put together two simple cards today.  And, I just started on another SVGCuts project tonight.  It may take a while, so don't get too excited just yet!  I hope that all of you are well :)

I just learned how to make these 3D flowers out from a flower shape and a circle cut 4 times each.  Ink the edges, crumple up the sides, take the flower shaped cuts and fold them in half and layer it over another, and glue them on to the bottom (circle pieces on top of each other) and then I added button in the middle.

Odd and Ends again.

I am now underway with painting my "new" home - we've primered the whole area, and started adding in colors last night!  It's so exciting!  I may have to post up pics of my reno when it's all done here!

I have also been working on another project for SVG Cuts, but in the meantime, here's more cards. They are all simple, yet, sometimes less is more :)

Have you all entered in for the pop-up cards contest over at SVG Cuts? It's on now 'til September 5th. There's some great entries there. Check it out here.

My mom's takes an interest in card making!

Because I have moved all my craft things to my parent's place, my mom can't help but to be surrounded by all my supplies everyday. Thus, she took interest in my tools and my paper, and my Cricut, and after browsing through many scrapbook magazine, she got inspired and decided to make some cards.

I think that she did an amazing job - check it out!
She would appreciate any feedback. Thanks for looking :)

Some odds and ends.

Life's been busy with my sister, who lives in Vancouver, came home to visit last weekend, and had two birthday celebrations for my son who turned 8. However, I'm posting up some cards that I've made recently:

I've also been busy working on my entry for the SVG Cuts June "All About Me" Challenge - I'll post up my entry very soon :)

Banner Greeting.

I just love the banner pennant on the Celebrations cartridge. A plain-looking cut, and not so cute or exciting like other ones, but there's so much you can do. The simpler the cut, the more embellishments you can add, and you can get away with using wild patterned papers. You can join the pennants with brads, eyelets, or ribbons. The best thing about banners is that as long as you use brads or ribbons, the pennant folds up on top of each other making it easy to fit into mail envelope.

Here, I made a birthday pennant card for my sister's birthday, in her favorite pink tones:
