Woot! It's another {Unity} Thursday!

Oh my!
I'm getting excited!
This is potentially the last post you'll see from me before my big trip!
My family is going on a big driving trip down into the States -
passing through 7? states!
I'll hope to have some posts scheduled during that time,
but in case, I get quiet around here -
that's why!

You should be arriving from Shemaine's blog,
and once again, here's the list for your reference!

Thienly Azim - YOU ARE HERE!

Angie Blom - http://www.angieblomdesigns.blogspot.com/

Today, I've got some fun projects to share with ya!

The first up is a stamped card using the new Phyllis Harris image:
Thanks for Being Fun!

 photo DSC_1898_zps431a888d.jpg

Isn't it so cute?
I've got two little ones - a boy and a girl -
and this is something that I often see!
(Except, they get so excited, they start jumping on top of him and he's usually squished!)

 photo DSC_1880_zpsede1b188.jpg

The next up is a card which I made using the current Kit of the Month!
It's a fun one -
it's a SURF card!

 photo DSC_1896_zpscf5e49a3.jpg

This happens to be a file from SVG Cuts (surprise, surprise!) -
and thought that it would be perfect with that sentiment!
The papers are from Echo Park Paradise Beach.

I love how the card opens -
it's different and fun!

 photo DSC_1897_zps6256b73f.jpg

I love that wooden veneer anchor!
Comes from the Studio Calico Atlantic collection.

The KOM has some fun images this month,
and you can see it all right HERE.

The last one is a goodie bag doorhanger
that would make a great little surprise gift for the teacher!

 photo DSC_1881_zps86110ccc.jpg

The bottom part is a box and there's a flap that opens at the top,
and the file comes from HERE.

All the stamps that you see -
the apple, the chalkboard, the badge
and the lovely sentiment are all from

 photo DSC_1882_zps8af9ae8f.jpg

For this project -
I mixed in the Jenni Bowlin papers with the Echo Park For the Record papers.
Works nicely, I think!

The side image of a girl was adorable
and used Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio to make epoxy stickers.

 photo DSC_1885_zps27c012a6.jpg

I hope that you liked my projects today,
and don't forget about the sale!

I'll be Home for Christmas... SVG Cuts DT Project!

Hey everyone!
I'm here AGAIN with another Christmas in July project!
(You're excited, right? :) )

I decided to take on that already beautiful Maple Manor,
and {hoped} that I'd turn it into something even more beautiful.

What I've seen online from many of you making it was oh so amazing,
I acutally wasn't sure if I should even attempt it.
I saw a few of you make Christmas houses,
and Autumn houses... dollhouses...
and loved each one of them.

I, as a design team member, wanted to do something a bit 'more' special -
just so I can inspire you to go all out and give you more ideas.
That's my job, right?

Well, here's my take on the house all decorated for the holidays!

 photo DSC_1873_zpsa048dc12.jpg

I had SOO much fun making (or shall I say, building) this house.
I swear - being a paper crafter,
I feel like I've had a chance to become a carpenter, a shoe designer,
a party planner.... pretty much all the jobs one can have!

There were many things that I wanted to add onto the house
and my mind was just filling up with tons of fun ideas.

Here are some major changes/additions to the house that I did!

1. I added a chimney!

 photo DSC_1843_zps57c6f537.jpg

This was a big container file from HERE,
but I shrank it down to fit the size of the house.

2. I changed all the windows from arched look to a rectangular look!
Click HERE to see the original house.

 photo DSC_1837_zpsfb8ab12d.jpg

All my windows came from HERE
and the shutters, I just used a striped embossing folder to give that look :)

3. I added a fence all around the house.
I wanted something to 'complete' the look of the house...
and the file from HERE was perfect!

 photo DSC_1847_zpsadde75e1.jpg

Instead of adhering the house in the middle of the 'base',
I pushed back the house to the back to allow more space at the front
between the fence and the house.

Then, comes all the fun little accents that I put on the house.

I found light strands from HERE
and icicles from HERE
to make the house festive!

 photo DSC_1836_zpsefcf0f8a.jpg

Just a lightbulb cutout was a bit too boring...
and wanted a bit of 'uuumph'
So, I used glossy accents on them (2 coats)
to give a shiny 3D bulb look :)

I also added glitter (I used Stickles) to icicles as well.

One of my favorite parts about this house is that there's a SILHOUETTE OF A WOMAN
showing through when you light up!

 photo DSC_1858_zps2dadd796.jpg

Can you see that?

I added a mailbox from HERE
(of course, the file was shrunk quite a bit -
but it toally cut fine!)
I had to add a CARDINAL perched on a fence -
just added more cuteness to it!

 photo DSC_1875_zpscd6aeef0.jpg

Oh, see the PLANTER at the sides of the house?
It's a EVERGREEN FERN file that I cut and rolled up into a random ball...
supposed to be a shrub :)

The SWAG that spans the front of the house is finished off with the 3D bow (free!),
and added some GREENERY around the door, as well :)

 photo DSC_1842_zpsfceab860.jpg

Another silhouette which you can see inside the house...
it's a Christmas TREE!

I added a SLED leaning up the fence,
and a SCOTTIE DOG (all dressed up in his sweater)...
which all adds to the house! (I think!)

This house size is pretty impressive!
It is about 13" in height,
12" wide and 9" deep.
It would make a beautiful decor!
(Pretty sturdy, too!)

Hope you liked my project!

For those of you that would want to make this,
here's the list of the files you need:
(It is A LOT, and you certainly DON'T need this much to make it Christmas-y)
I added a lot, just for your inspiration :)

For my Valentine SVG Kit (mailbox and fence)
Happy Thanks SVG Kit (planter pot)
Christmas Gift Bags SVG Kit (scottie dog and cardinal)
Rockin Around the Christmas SVG Collection (woman silhouette, mistletoe, front door greenery and sled)
Comet’s Candy Land SVG Collection (tree silhouette and light strands)
3D Wintergreens (plant inside the pot)

... and then head on over the SVG Cuts blog for info on how to make it!

Oh, and before I let you go -
Have you picked up your latest SVG Cuts kit yet???

Remember - it's free with $9.98 purchase or more,
and coupon: FREEGIFT

Alrighty - gotta go!
I'm in the middle of trying to get my projects done before I leave for a vacation next week!
See ya!

Chocolate and Friendship.... oooh, what a great combo!

Happy Sunday to all!
Oooh, you're all going to love the new SOTW from Unity!

I'm all about chocolate, and... chocolate.
... and what could be more important than that?

Well, of course, friendship!
So... we had to come up with this clever stamp!

 photo chocolatefriendship_zpsa3881570.jpg

Isn't it the cutest stamp?
It's perfect for Valentine, too! (thinkin` ahead!)
So... with this, I've decided to paper pierce and add some FOIL!
YEAH!

 photo DSC_1826_zps466bb926.jpg

Doesn't it look like a real bar?
Looks yummy, right?
Do I see your hands reaching out to grab yourself a chocolate right now? :)

It's a simple tag that I made, but totally adds to the little goodie bag!

All hail the birthday queen.... Stamp of the week.

Hello friends!
Happy to have you here!

Today - I have a little project that I made using the current
STAMP OF THE WEEK!
 photo bee_zps0b608e1c.jpg

Such a fun stamp,
and you all know that HONEYCOMBS
are totally in -
it's a must get stamp! :)

Here's what I've created for you
as an inspiration project!

 photo DSC_1814_zpse4e283b0.jpg

My daughter literally freaked out when she saw my project.
(and my 11yr old son, too!)
I can tell that she wanted to touch it
'cause of the pretty flowers and the sparkly crown...
but inside, she was debating is it worth risking it? lol.
(and nope, after few seconds of contemplating,
she walked away!)

Now, I know...
for all the projects that I've made or in the process of making,
if I don't want her to touch it,
I can just put one of these bees on!
Haha.

 photo DSC_1816_zps864dc87b.jpg

Anyway -
I thought that this hexagon shaped box from HERE
was perfect for the bee theme,
along with honeycomb papers from Echo Paper Country Drive.

I embellished the box with flowers,
and topped it off with a crown.

It's a fun way to give something for the birthday girl...
well, if she's brave enough to touch the box :)

Oooh, and you NEED to get the latest SVG Cuts kit!
It's amazing!!!!
and so fun!!!
Get out those summer papers and start craftin'!

It's free this week with purchase of $9.98 or more!

Hope that you liked my project today
and thanks for coming by!

Santa Boot Stocking - SVG Cuts project

Hello all!
I hope that you're having a great summer so far!

This week over at SVG Cuts,
a HUGE Christmas in July Party is happenin'
and hope that all of you can join us for some fun!

We're having new Christmas themed projects shared daily from the design team,
EVERYTHING in the store is 25% off with coupon: XMASJULY
A new Sizzix eclips and a Silhouette Cameo giveaway,
...and we're gonna end it with a BANG -
with an all new kit coming out on Fri/Saturday!
Doesn't that sound amazing?

Anyway - today - I get to share my Christmas project with y'all!

It's actually a super easy project
(nothing like any other thing that I make for DT projects)
and you can probably make this without looking at my instructions!

It's a SANTA BOOT!
(also can be used as a stocking!)

 photo DSC_1721_zps5933792f.jpg

I just recreated using the boot file from here,
but made it all Christmas-y!

I covered up the top of the boot that makes it cowboy-ish,
with white felt all around...
and totally changes the way this boot looks!

I embellished the boot with wintergreens,
and little gift boxes :)

 photo DSC_1718_zpsdaf2fec5.jpg

Of course, stamped sentiment makes everything complete -
used a stamp from Gingerbread Kisses stamp set
(did ya know that Mary also designed this stamp set?)

 photo DSC_1723_zps076110cc.jpg

...and, of course, a Santa needs to jingle,
so I added a bell on his boot!

Oh, and a Santa buckle, too!

 photo DSC_1715_zps5b2d3a39.jpg

Cute, isn't it?

It would be super cute to customize the boot
(forget the Santa boot)
but personalize for each family member
and have it sitting on the fireplace mantle.

It's a perfect way to stuff some hot chocolate and chocolates
and makes a perfect holiday gift!

To make this, you need 3 kits:

...and then head over to SVG Cuts blog for instructions!

Hope you liked my project today -
and don't forget to take advantage of the coupon: XMASJULY
as EVERYTHING is 25% off!

Here's a Ticket to some Unity Fun Thursday!

Hello!!!

I'm so happy to have you back here again! :)
I need some company (that's YOU!)
as my family from Japan (they were here for 3 weeks) are leaving today...
I'm really close to them, and enjoyed every moment that they were here.
I'm taking them to the airport midday... and it's back to craftin' for me!
(Thankfully - I have something to keep me occupied to distract me from being sad  :( )

Anyway - you shall be arriving here from Shemaine's blog!
... and here's the whole list for your reference!

Thienly Azim - You are here! HOORAY!

I've got fun 3 things to share today!

First up is a card using a stamp release last week

 photo DSC_1812_zps693ed5d6.jpg

I kept this CAS (at least I think so!)
using the Echo Park Love Truly papers.

 photo DSC_1813_zps0a35b178.jpg

I found this perfect MARTINI glass cut file from here,
and the city silhouette is part of the paper collection.

Next up is a card using the current SMAK.
For this one, I just got myself summery papers that was perfect for this.

 photo DSC_1809_zps1c47ab08.jpg

It's Crate Paper The Pier -
and so love the fact that
it has a matching washi tape sheet and various kraft patterned cardstock as a part of the collection.

 photo DSC_1810_zps5e573e83.jpg

Such fun stamps, isn't it?
and those 'cuttable' washi sheet is to die for!
Wish every paper collection had something like that!

 photo DSC_1811_zps91abb6c6.jpg

At the bottom, I created a 'faux' pocket -
to hold tickets and such.
(Even a gift card would be fun!)

I just love the color combo in these papers :)
Lastly but not least,
(this is the one I'm most excited about!)
is a 3D anchor that I made...
using stamps from the current KOM.
and
Silhouette files..
Yep - I am a very loyal SVG Cuts fan,
so you won't see that from me very often!
But yeah - when I saw this file, I HAD to try making one.

 photo DSC_1803_zps227cb5f4.jpg

This blue wave paper is also part of the Crate Paper The Pier.

I love the way this turned out...
I'm very into nautical look lately!

I mod podged the anchor to make it a bit sturdy
and before I sealed off the anchor -
I added in some stones inside to give it a nice weight to help stand.

 photo DSC_1806_zps85aff959.jpg

Note that ship's wheel above...
that was my suggestion for what kind of stamps we'd like to have in our KOM
and yay - it became a part of the kit!
Hope you all like it as much as I do!

 photo DSC_1805_zpsc018abe5.jpg

I love that little bottle filled with sand!

Anyway - that's it for today!

There's some fun sale going on over at Unity -
so I URGE you to go shop.
(well, at least go check it out!)

 photo sale_zps17b66ebb.jpg

...and Mr. Unity's birthday is this Friday, so can't let a week pass without celebrating that! :)

What I've been up to... and capturing those moments.

Ya Hoo!
I'm not much of a 'western' person, but I sure enjoy our annual cowboy festival in my city.
(love cowboy themed crafts, too!)
It's called the Calgary Stampede and is probably one of the largest outdoor show on Earth -
there's rides and concessions,
there's rodeo and chuckwagon races,
there's talent shows and concerts,
not to mention parade, fireworks, and evening shows.
It's super fun place to be, and if you ever come by here -
it's worth checking out!
(other than coming to visit me!)

This place (as mentioned in my last blog post) was heavily flooded just 15 days ago,
and almost got cancelled...
however, with hard work and determination to keep the 100 years of celebration alive,
they sucked up all the water, cleaned up the sludge, and set up the carnival.
It's amazing actually!

I've been super busy lately with 6 of my family members coming to visit,
and my sister home for the past few days...
So much fun, yet no time to craft!
I LOVE my family, and no -
I don't get sick of them -
and want to spend every moment with them as I can.
Thus... my craftiness will resume late next week :)

Anyway - thought that I'd whip up a super simple card to share with y'all today!

It's a POLAROID card from this COLLECTION.
I just enlarged it to 5.50" wide,
and also created a card base as well using the two mirror images welded together at the top.

 photo DSC_1700_zps7ed96434.jpg

I almost wanted this to be a 3D polaroid box -
wouldn't it be fun to store all the photos inside?
(maybe I've got to think of something for a DT project!)

 photo DSC_1708_zps000bb05d.jpg

I used various embellishements to 'bring out' my camera:
1. Epiphany Crafts Round 25 epoxy for the lens.
2. Mini bottle cap for the dial.
3. Brad for the button.
4. Embossed acetate over cardstock for the flash.
5. Found the PERFECT ribbon from Cosmo Cricket Jacks' World (passe collection)
5. Of course, the perfect sentiment from Unity.

I also love the fact that a picture is shooting out from the camera!
The polaroid cut-outs are also from SVG Cuts,
and I used the default size for this - 3.50" wide.

 photo DSC_1726_zps33bba854.jpg

...and thought that I'd share some of my fave photos from the Stampede.
Here's me (in the middle) -
wish I had on my sunglasses to be cool like the other gals!
and my sister to the left and my cousins on the right.
Yep - we totally "click" (this stamp set)
We've bonded from when we were small,
and named us the 'cousin club'.

 photo DSC_1728_zps6f1265c4.jpg

...and I had to share a pic of my crazy kiddos.
Love them -
they keep me smilin' all day with their hilarious poses and dance moves.
Sentiment comes from here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it, folks!
Oh, I'm going on a HUGE driving trip in a few weeks -
we're driving down to the Grand Canyon,
to Vegas, to Anaheim to do Disney,
then up the coast into San Francisco and Portland,
and coming back through Spokane.
If any of you have any advice, MUST SEE places,
I'd LOVE to know!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, and while I've got ya here -
did you see the NEW KIT from SVG Cuts?
HOLY MOLY!
That's all I can say.
Get it free with $9.98 purchase or more this week!
COUPON: FREEGIFT

Can't wait to try making the haunted mansion!

That's it -
thanks for coming by!
Have a beautiful day!
