Isn't it pretty special that we actually get to have a new kit even though Leo and Mary is on vacation? They were so kind enough to think of us... they knew us too well that without a new collection/kit a week would make us go crazy!
SO, have you seen the latest SVG Cuts' kit? If not, you can see it right here - it's the Advent Calendar Trees SVG Kit!
For those who have followed me in the past year all know how I LOVE making Advent calendars, and they also know how useful these kits can be to take a part of it and turn it into something else.
I've made an altered Halloween calendar last year using the Classic Christmas Advent Calendar SVG Kit by altering some of the door sizes, to make it into 31 doors instead of 25.
I've also made another project for Christmas, where I've taken the 3D Letters and made an advent calendar right on it - you can see it here.
Anyway, so with this new kit (as my mind is still on Halloween) - as soon as I saw this, I thought the one tree with the three doors would be PERFECT to make a candy corn box! I didn't alter anything - just made it exactly the way Mary designed it, and didn't even change the size.
...and here's how it turned out!
To add a little more interest to the black border - I added black polka dot washi tape on it.
For each of the doors, I added a little matching color button with jute twine - which also helped to keep the doors closed - pretty clever... I know :)
I embossed each of the candy corn colors, and added some Unity stamps on it! I've been loving {That's Creepy} stamp set (just used them for my canvas bag project - you still have time to enter - I'm giving away 25 of these bags!) and had to use them again here!
I'll show ya pics upclose... just because I know you want to see it! :)
The cute bat and the ghost that you'll see is from the Spooky Cuties SVG Collection, and these characters are stinkin' cute - it makes any project adorable! I'm not very good at drawing in the eyes, so I resort to the googly eyes - which even makes them cuter!
The word 'eek' is using the 'another typewriter' font (which is also the font that I use for my watermark on my pics! Can't you tell I love that font?)
So, this box is actually pretty good size... it measures 10 inches tall, and each compartment is decent size, good enough to hold a little toy, or even this amount of candy in the middle one! (It's pretty deep, so it holds a lot!)
See how fun this kit is? You can do so much with them!
Hope you liked my project today and that I've inspired you in some way! :)
Thanks for stopping by here today - and while I've got you... join me Saturday for Unity Stamp Company's World Card Making Day celebration! There's hourly challenge with prizes to be won, and I'm hosting one of the challenges, so I hope to see all my Unity friends there! :)
