LOADS of FUN with Unity Thursday!

Happy Halloween!!!
It's another fun day over at Unity and SO GLAD that you took your time to hop! :)
I know you're all busy with Halloween festivites, but you don't wanna miss anything here, don't you?

You should be arriving here from Shemaine's blog,
and here's the full participating list for your reference.

Thienly Azim - me!

I've got several projects to share with you today, but sorry to disppoint you...
nothing is Halloween related! lol.
Moving on... my head is all jingling with all holiday related stuff!

There are TONS of NEW RELEASES today, so make sure that you check them all out!

First of all...
let's welcome our latest ANGIEgirl into the family -
CHARLEE!!!
She's super cute, isn't she?
I just LOVE her leggings!
I want one like that!

 photo DSC_2845_zps46da2440.jpg

I used the Jillibean Soup Winter Tortellini and Spinich Soup collection
and was inspired to follow the color scheme for the card.

 photo DSC_2847_zpsc599812c.jpg

I added button and doilies to the side - which adds interest :)

The next one is also designed by Angie Blom (isn't she amazing?) -
and it's the cutest lovable deer!
I know some of you have mentioned to not include the frame,
and you can totally do that!
I put it inside a wooden scalloped square frame and gives it a bit different look!
(I used the same Jillibean collection as above)

 photo DSC_2857_zpsb353530b.jpg

I personally think that this is my fave project out of my four today.
I just love the classic-ness of the deer!
I put the deer over a vellum and created a little TABLE LANTERN
(changed the window to square)
(can you see the faint glow inside?)

The next project is using the current Kit of the Month.
I tried to combine as many stamps in the set to make a project and this is what I did!
It's a mail BOX!

 photo DSC_2841_zps534a6f99.jpg

To make this, I used six stamps from the kit.
It's so fun to combine!

 I altered the GIFT BOX
and altered the dimensions for the rectangular box to create a little gift box.
and simply added a MAIL cut out.

 photo DSC_2842_1_zps770ad638.jpg

As soon as I decided to this,
I was set on using the Echo Park This and That Christmas collection.
Has a bit of a vintag-y festive look :)

Lastly, but not least -
here's a TEABAG DISPENSER BOX that I made using the current Stamp of the Week!

 photo holidayjoy2_zpsd3f9f392.jpg

It's such a pretty image -
it would make great gift tags by itself!

 photo DSC_2777_zps1bd0141a.jpg

Okay, I hope that you liked my projects today!

Make sure to go check out all other blogs for inspiration using the new release,
and don't forget to go to the STORE to see all that's on SALE!

It's a Darn Good Thursday over at Unity!

Hello All!!!
I'm excited 'cause my post is gonna be a bit different from usual :)

I have a special post for you today -
with the help of my little helpers :)

You should be arriving here from Shilo's blog -
and here's a list for your reference!
I'm training my kids to be future Unity stamp users! lol.
When they received their 'OWN' Little Hands stamps from Unity -
look how EXCITED and HAPPY they are!

 photo DSC_2794_zps8e1c19ae.jpg

I brought out some cardstock, ink, washi tape, wiggly eyes,
and other fun embellishments and you've got to see what they've created!

 photo DSC_2798_zps2fb8762b.jpg

Kai, 6, knows to put the cling onto the acrylic block to stamp!
He's busy making something!

 photo DSC_2808_zps111aded7.jpg

...and look how proud they are!
 photo kai_zps6eba3697.jpg

 photo Amelie_zps49efed2c.jpg

The sizes of these stamps are a bit larger than usual -
which makes it kid friendly and easy to color!

These would be fun images for your next kids' Christmas party, too -
as one of the activities!

They are ON SALE - so make sure you go check it out!

Next up  -
don't forget about the {be inspired} challenge going on!

 photo challenge_zps38fa7ad2.jpg

As long as you use Unity stamps -
it doesn't have to be Christmas themed.
Do what your heart desires -
using either the color combo, sketch or both!

Here's another take on the card sketch!

 photo DSC_2818_zpsd8e64ad1.jpg

Isn't this snowman in a snowglobe adorable?
It's from last year's set - Snowglobe Wonderland.
ALSO on SALE!
The side bigger snowflakes are from Snowflake Kisses!

 photo DSC_2819_zps86240a0a.jpg

I used wooden heart and snowflakes to add some dimension to the card.

... and one last project!
This is just a random card I wanted to share!
Using one of my FAVORITE MUSTACHE!

 photo DSC_1519_zps652320df.jpg

I added the mustache onto a stick,
along with GLASSES cut out to make some mini photo props :)

 photo DSC_1520_zps9507e692.jpg

That's it!
I hope that you enjoyed my little special helper as my 'guests' today!

Unity Thursday - {be inspired!}

Hello all!
It's time for another weekend of fun at Unity!

Today - we have few exciting things going on!
Super adorable release from Phyllis Harris,
So fun to use sentiments from Donna Downey,
An all new holiday {be inspired} Sentiment kit,
and the new {be inspired} Unity challenge begins today!
(not to mention the sale, too!)

You should have arrived here from Shemaine's blog -
and here's others for your reference:
Thienly Azim - that's me!
Isha Gupta (Guest Designer) - http://www.hobbyandideas.blogspot.ch

Oooh, I just love the new challenge colors! (and the inspiration pic!)
I'm just craving a nice warm cup of hot chocolate looking at it.
I can almost smell it right now!

 photo challenge_zps38fa7ad2.jpg

So, I decided to make a card (surprise, surprise...
Of course, layout would be more of a challenge for me)

I took that same pretty ornmament in the sketch,
but decided to do something different with it!
(the ornament is from the current KOM )

 photo DSC_2768_zpscc5de9f2.jpg

I made a 3D honeycomb ornament.
Of course, you're not gonna be able to send this,
but for those special recipients -
what a fun card to give!

 photo DSC_2769_zps12569d4b.jpg

For those of you that wants to know how to make it,
here's a quick how-to:
1. Cut out 10 of the stamped ornaments.
2. Fold them all into half, into semi-circles.
3. Glue the top and the bottom section of each of the inner fold,
making sure that where it's glued is exactly the same for all of them.
4. Once dry, adhere each of the semi-circles together by making a strip horizontally in the middle,
again making sure that the glued section is same for all.
5. Allow to completely dry. Unfold the semi-circle to reveal a pretty honeycomb ornament!

I used washi/glitter tape to tie in the challenge colors :)

The next project up is the new Phyllis Harris stamp -
Oooh, how I enjoyed making this one!

 photo DSC_2783_zps72087450.jpg

I've always wanted to make this FRAME from SVG Cuts,
and when I realized that this image was the perfect size for it -
BINGO!

The yellow dotted paper is from Crate Paper Bo-Peep collection
and based my colors on that.
The sky was a bit brighter than what I wanted to be -
but think it added a bit to the 'dreamy' part.

 photo DSC_2785_zps11ba2586.jpg

I added some dress wrinkles and shadows to bring out the image,
and of course, some rhinestones did more magic :)

Check out all the other Phyllis Harris release as well as all her past ones - they are all so pretty!

 photo promo2_zpsba0808e1.jpg

Lastly, but not least -
is the new Sentiment kit!
(We always have a new sentiment kit for every challenge! -
just for fun! You are not required to use them for the challenge :)
Any Unity stamps will do! )

 photo promo3_zps2ff452ab.jpg

This is a holiday themed one,
but it's based on the same Everything Wonderful kit.
That means that you can use the frames from that kit for the new sentiments!
(and that's exactly what I did!)

 photo DSC_2793_zpsf0deeb75.jpg

With these pretty labels -
I created some simple but elegant Christmas party crackers.
You can fill them up with chocolates, and even some joke or a fortune,
to spice up your next party!

The party cracker file is a free file,
but you must go to my Halloween Crackers project on the SVG Cuts blog -
and click the FREE FILE portion under Dimensions section to download :)

A few more pics to show how pretty they are!

 photo DSC_2791_zps6cc85864.jpg

 photo DSC_2788_zps9bae99bd.jpg

 photo DSC_2790_zpsfcd9b824.jpg

There's a whole lotta sale happening over at the store!
James (Angela's son) is turning 16,
so we're basing the whole sale on the number 16!
Watch out for itty bitty marked down to $2.16,
some kits marked down below $16,
and even some KOM marked as $20.16!

So you know with every order -
Unity has a little gift for ya, right?

Well, Fancy Pants Designs company has been so generous to Unity -
they've sent boxes and boxes of goodies to share with you all!
Go like them on FB page, and let them know Unity sent ya!

 photo promo1_zps52824b72.jpg

That's it!
By now - I hope that you know the routine.
Leave some love on every participating blogs on this hop,
and this week -
there's going to be 3 lucky winners randomly chosen
to receive a grab bag of 50 stamps!
Now, that's worth commenting for, right?

Thanks for taking your time today to hop -
now I'm sending you off to our talented guest designer -

From my oven to yours.

Hello!!!
I've got a CUUUTE project to share with y'all today!
I'm so excited, because it's something that I've always to do when this FILE came out!
(since I've done so many Halloween projects - I felt like moving onto some Christmas!)

So, with this file -
I've wanted to add on a door that actually opens and a drawer that you can actually pull out!
...and that's exactly what I did!

 photo DSC_2767_zps45207aad.jpg

Super cute, right?
I made this into a Christmas themed oven -
using Echo Park Very Merry Christmas collection.
With this oven, there's a place to add some of your baking (few pieces!),
as well as a place to send a gift card :)

 photo DSC_2761_zps9461005b.jpg

I made coils out of my wires and made that for the range.
The mini bottle cap is used for the dial for the top,
and the little gears were used for the dials at the sides.

 photo DSC_2764_zps9a26b3ee.jpg

An oven is incomplete without oven mitts and pot holders,
and I hung them up using the 7 Gypsies loops and hooks.

 photo DSC_2760-1_zpsb746490f.jpg

When the oven door is closed -
it looks like this!
I used a mini wooden dowel as the handle
and clear acetate for the window.

 photo DSC_2765_zpsec193dd3.jpg

Opening up the oven door -
you can pull out a little cookie pan box.
Looks like the cookies are nicely baked with a bit of browning :)

 photo DSC_2763_zpse9fb33dd.jpg

...and when you pull out the drawer at the bottom,
there's plenty of space to fill it up wih a gift card,
more goodies, etc!

So you wanna know how to make?
I took down some measurements, so you can make your own!
First of all -
you need these files:

2. Classic Advent Christmas Calendar SVG Kit (to support inner oven door and drawer)
4. An Afternoon at Auntie Elaine's SVG Collection (oven mitts and pot holders)
6. Christmas Open House SVG Kit (box inside oven)

Directions:
1. Open up the oven box from here, using the default size (11.4"w for the box_bottom.svg).
Instead of cutting out the front decorative elements (cabinet, oven door, and the drawer)
you will need to include these features in this main box_bottom.svg.

2. Break apart all the parts into separate elements,
which makes it easier for you to use different papers as well.

3. For the box_bottom1.svg - once you have separated the elements,
elongate the height of the oven to 6"h. (It should be 9.043"w)

4. Add on a rectangle at the bottom for the drawer opening -
3.014"w x 1.095"h.

5. Open up the face.svg from here (Advent Calendar), resize to 12.550"w and break apart.
Group together only the door 25 flap with the score lines, and delete the rest.
Add this onto the oven front.

6. Resize the oven door file to 3.05"w by 2.338"h.
Place this exactly where you put the door flap from 5.
Make a copy and put that oven door to the side,
break apart the oven door on the flap, and delete the frame, leaving only the window.

It should look like this:

7. You will also need to cut the inner supports for the oven door and the drawer.
Open the interior_boxes.svg from here (Advent Calendar)and resize to 12.550"w for door 25.
Open the interior_boxes.svg and resize to 10.05"w for door 20.
Regroup only those elements, delete the rest.
Put both in a horizontal position and resize both of them HEIGHT only to 6.43"h.
For box 25: 11.305"w by 6.43"h final measurement.
For box 20: 8.544"w by 6.43"h.
You may delete the numbers and change the cut lines to 'score' lines on eclips.

It should look like this:

Cut this out, but before you use this, you will need to trim off quite a bit (MOST) of the flaps to fit.
Adhere into the oven box, and cut out the rest of the oven parts and assemble.
You can cut a piece of acetate to form a 'window' for the door.

5. Cutting the drawers.
The drawer is from here - 6x8x2 box.
Resize bottom.svg, bottom_liner.svg, bottom.svg and bottom_sides all to 4.6"w.
Cut and assemble. This should fit the bottom.

6. The cookie tray box is from here.
Resize this to 8.2"w, cut and assemble.

7. Cut the rest of the embellishment files:
Oven mitts: 1.25"w
Pot holder: 1.50"w

8. I added some 'trim' by using basic circles to make a frame around the dials.
Add wires, and other goodies and you're done!
Fill it up with yummies and you're ready to gift!

That's it!
Hope that you liked my project today
and that you'll try it out!
If for any reason you have any questions -
feel free to contact me!

...and ooooh, don't forget about the new kit!
Always free with a purchase of $9.98 or more!
It's amazing!

Alrighty - have a great weekend everyone!

Jack O'Lantern Candy Toss - SVG Cuts DT Project.

Hello once again!
I'm here to share my last project that I made for the SVG Cuts Halloween Party!
There's ONE MORE project(s) to be shared tomorrow from an amazing designer -
so keep your eyes peeled!

So, with the Jack O'Lantern-in-a-Box, Spooky Cuties Block Puzzle, and with this...
I literally felt like I was working in a Santa's Toy Workshop.
Except it was all Halloween toys!

 photo DSC_2724_zps2874f1b6.jpg

This one today is the BIGGEST project that I've ever created.
It is the BIGGEST one that anyone has probably ever created!
I had to break up the Jack O'Lantern file onto 3 12x12 mats and adhere them together.
You can kinda see how I did it here!

 photo CandyToss_zps4b1fc4b2.jpg

This originally was a card file, and then I blew this up numerous times...
and I had to break up the parts to change it for a larger mouth.
Larger mouth to accommodate candies! :)

 photo DSC_2731_zps19d9537d.jpg

Those teeth that you see are all made out of canvas!
That's right-
these teeth are fully bendable and flimsy so it can allow all the candies in!
Yet - it's stiff enough to hold it in that position.

I added some fun things onto this board -
such as the bat on a wire,
a freakin' pumpking looking at the spider hanging down,
and all the game points indicated on a rosette.

 photo DSC_2733_zps02f6380a.jpg

Rosettes are so fun to make,
and super easy -
yet it adds SO MUCH to a project!

 photo DSC_2736_zps61e844dc.jpg

I love the vintage look of these papers -
it's exactly the 'style' that I imagined these pumpkins to be!
I used Echo Park Apothecary Emporium collection.

 photo DSC_2729_zps5d7ba5b9.jpg

I had to create a 'sign' for the game.
It was important for me to pick the right carnival font -
just didn't want to go with a blah arial or courier :)
So I went with Pointedly Mad font.

So, when I showed this game to the kids -
they were SO excited!
I got them to dress up in their Halloween costume for my little photo shoot.

 photo layout_zps149cb186.jpg

Don't they just look so thrilled?
Don't they look like 'We've got the best mama ever?' kinda expression? lol.
Well, even if they didn't, I sure felt good to make some handmade toys for them!

If you want to make one just like this,
all you need are the collections below:
1. Maple Manor SVG Kit (the pumpkin base)
2. Spooky Cuties SVG Collection (spider and bat)

...and then once you have them all -
head on over to the SVG Cuts blog for files and its sizes used, and for instructions.

That's it!
Thanks for coming by  -
your visits always make my day :)
