Fa-BOO-Lous Guest Designer: SVG Cuts

Welcome to Happy Life, Crafty Wife's Fa-BOO-Lous Halloween Inspiration Week! I am so excited to be a part of her amazing inspirational week, and today, it's SVG Cuts' day!! Whoo-hoo!

Photobucket

I've got TWO posts for you today (DIFFERENT projects) that I've made to celebrate this, so please be sure to go check out the other one HERE! (Make sure you comment as I have a little GIVEAWAY on each as well!)

So... where do I first begin?

I met Tamara through SVG Cuts and we've been {awesome.} friends since about 2 years ago! We've been in several teams together (SVG Cuts, Epiphany Crafts, Paper Issues... not to mention we had a BLOG together for awhile!) ...so yeah, I KNOW her quite well :)  I used to stalk her blog when not very many of you knew she existed... I wanted to become friends with her SOOO BAD and look at her now! (I guess I have good tastes in crafters! lol..)  (I've even slept with her in the same room this summer... hehe... I know I'm lucky! Sounds weird, it's all good - we just attended CHA with the SVG Crew)  Seriously, I just love her to pieces - she's talented, she's makes me laugh, and she's been there to support me all along :)  She's a very special friend, and feeling blessed that our paths have crossed! Thanks Tamara :)

SVG Cuts (obviously sells SVG files!) and they are darn awesome at it! SVG files (for those that are new to this) are downloadable files that you can cut on your cutting machine.  The cutting machine that I use and that I love it the Sizzix eclips ;) They have weekly free gifts with purchase, and have tutorial videos and trailers for the new kits which are MUST-SEE!

Anyway, so for my SVG Cuts' project, I made something simple, but I think that it's super cute! I took the witch hat box from the recent kit, and 'BLING'ed it up a bit :)

I was inspired to make a hat like the one from Haunted Hemlock Cards SVG Kit, and put some of those files together.  I was determined to make everything GLITTERY... and started cutting the hat in silver and black, not realizing the other colors that I had did not go with the image that I wanted... GAH!!!! (Actually these things happen VERY OFTEN for me... I get excited and start to cut... only to realize I don't have enough paper! It gives me reasons to go to scrapbooking store VERY OFTEN! lol...)

Thankfully, I had Mister Huey Calico Shine mist that added shine. and glitter. to everything.  I sprayed them all onto AC Cardstock, and voila - I had a completely different cardstock! Yay!

Here's the main part upclose...

Love that spider? I stocked up those, along with that button that you see last year at Michaels after Halloween.  Can't wait to do that again this year!

The flower is from here, and the rest of the leaves that you see are from this kit :) Isn't it amazing how you can combine all these files together? I love doing that with SVG Cuts' files!

...and had to add my fave wires with stars and bats flying out of the hat :)

Guess what pics I forgot to take? This witch hat is a box... so it opens up! You can store some candies in there, and makes a fa-BOO-lous gift! The hat portion lifts up! It's crazy, isn't it?

So... onto the prizes... and deets for the week:

1. Make sure that you go to Tamara's blog and leave her some love for your chance to win Fa-BOO-Lous prizes! (There's prizes daily, so make sure you check all of them out!)
